How do I view my Morningstar.com portfolio?
Tap on the Portfolio icon and log in using your Morningstar.com e-mail address and password. If you have forgotten your password, tap on the Forgot Password button and Product Support will help you to reset it.
I had a watch list saved on my phone from the previous version. Where is this now?
Your local watch list is now saved in the Portfolios screen under "Local Watch List".
How do I edit a watch list?
Tap on the Edit button on the upper right hand corner of the screen to adjust the price or number of shares, or to add or remove holdings.
How do I create a watch list?
From the Portfolio screen, tap the "+" symbol in the top right hand corner to name and create a U.S. or Canadian watch list.
How do I edit a transactional portfolio?
Within the iPhone application users can only edit or create watch lists, not transactional portfolios. Due to the data complexity of transactional portfolios, they should be edited online at www.morningstar.com.
How do I see additional data points in a portfolio or watch list?
Simply tap on the column name to toggle from one data point to another, and also rotate your iPhone or iPod Touch sideways to see additional columns.
How do I sort data within a portfolio or watch list?
Tap on a data point within the column that you want to sort, tap again to reverse the sort order For example if you want to sort on $ Price Change, tap on one of the values in that column and the data will get sorted in descending order. Tap again and the data will sort in ascending order.
How do I change the time range for a chart?
From the Chart & News screen of stocks, funds, or ETFs, turn the iPhone or iPod Touch sideways to see an enlarged chart and tap on the time periods to see the different views.
How is a certain data point calculated?
See the Data Definitions section in the Help Screen.
Why can't I see any data?
Ensure that you are connected to the internet/you have a signal.
How do I log out of my Morningstar.com account?
Under the "More" screen, tap "Log Out".
Why can't I see all of the data points for analyst reports?
We have added additional data points to our analyst report screens, some of which are features of Premium membership. Learn more about Premium and sign up for a 14 day trial here.
If I am not an existing Morningstar.com user, how do I access the Portfolio features?
Sign up for a free Morningstar.com account here to access the Portfolio screens.
How do I view information for the individual categories of the Morningstar Market Barometer?
On the Morningstar Market Barometer, tap on one of the nine squares.
How do I search for Canadian tickers?
In the Search screen, tap on the flag icon to toggle between US and Canada (Note: if you navigate to the Search screen from a US Watch List, you will not be able to add Canadian tickers to it.)
